My name is Amber. Thank you for stopping by! I  started gardening in the desert 22 years ago. It was a huge learning curve for me and some of my plants didn’t make it. In 2009 I created this website to record what I planted, where I planted it, and how well the plant did. Kind of like an online garden journal. PHX Gardening is a place to share tips on gardening in the desert and help foster the love of gardening.

I’m Actively growing flowers, vegetables, trees and other plants on our suburban lot just outside the city of Phoenix, Arizona.

My love for gardening and continuous learning prompted me to become a Master Gardener. The more I learn the more I realize how continuous the process is. You never stop learning. I’ve planted succulents, roses, vines, trees, shrubs, cactus, rhizomes, flowers, tubers, fruit, vegetables and hundreds of bulbs. Gardening truly is therapy for the soul.
