Oh, how I do love September. Even though it is still triple digit temperatures during the day, we know the nights will be getting cooler soon. I think my love for this month is due to the anticipation of the cooler gardening weather to come! The last of the hot summer days in the pool are almost behind us and we can start planning for fall.
What’s Blooming in September in Phoenix?
Lantanas are still blooming-aren’t they always? They come in so many pretty colors and they are a staple here in the Phoenix yards. Bougainvillea, Mexican Bird of Paradise, and Hibiscus are still delivering gorgeous tropical-looking blooms.
Summer annuals such as Zinnia, Black-eyed Susans, Angelita Daisies, and marigolds are still showing off their golden colors this month. Sage and Salvia blooms are both consistent summer flowering plants and you will still see shades of blue, red, and pink in in the month of September.
Cosmos and Dahliahs, and striking Gaillardi blooms can be admired in September.
